Teletherapy is basically the same as traditional therapy, except that you aren't in the same room. Just like a traditional therapy session, we will set up an appointment, but rather than meeting in an office, we will meet over video conference during that time. This is a great way to meet with your therapist remotely over a secure and confidential video platform. All you need is a device that is connected to the internet with video and audio capabilities, and a private location to talk. It can be hard to find privacy right now, when many of us are working from home, but I believe that it is important to feel safe to say anything in therapy, and that requires some alone time. If you are concerned about finding privacy, let me know. We can talk through your situation and work towards a solution together.

I use a platform called SimplePractice. When you schedule an appointment, you will be sent a link for the video appointment. Click on it when our appointment is scheduled to start or open it through the "Telehealth by SimplePractice" app (download free in the app store). You can use the camera and audio on your computer or mobile device.
If you aren't sure about teletherapy, that's okay! Our first meeting will be a free 20 minute consultation where you can see how it feels to meet online without an commitment. To schedule your first appointment online or by phone, head to my scheduling page
